The PiTiPS project was launched on May 1, 2022, at the GAT Institute, following successful funding approval by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) within the funding guideline “Technology-supported innovations for care communities to improve the quality of life and health of informal caregivers.”
The GAT, together with the University of Lübeck, Furtwangen University, the Bavarian Research Center for Digital Care, and the advocacy and self-help group for family caregivers “wir pflegen!”, provides scientific support, advice, and ongoing guidance to the joint projects in shaping the participation and co-creation of the Caring Communities. Over the four-year project period, application-oriented joint projects will develop socio-technical solutions that are designed to better meet the care needs of informal caregivers while ensuring a high quality of care.
The topic of co-creation in socio-technical innovations is becoming increasingly important in the current research landscape, which is why several projects on this topic are also underway at GAT (CoCre-HIT) or have been completed (COGA for older people).
With PiTiPS, the previous target groups are now being expanded to include informal caregivers and care communities and implemented in the form of an integrated research and development approach
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMFTR).
PiTiPS was jointly acquired by visiting professor Dr. Cordula Endter and Prof. Dr. Hoff. Following Dr. Cordula Endter's move to the Catholic University of Applied Social Sciences in Berlin, PiTiPS will continue at GAT under the subproject leadership of Prof. Hoff.
