The home is the center of life in old age, and living conditions have a decisive impact on quality of life in old age. Demographic change, changes in family structures, and workplace dynamics raise urgent questions about the future of home care for older people in need of care and assistance. Technical assistance systems make it possible to live longer in familiar home surroundings and social environments, which contributes to an improved quality of life. On the one hand, VATI is developing an interactive, web-based technology navigator. The information is provided free of economic interests and aims to connect providers and users of these technologies on a regional level. On the other hand, older people in eastern Saxony are being surveyed in a regionally representative survey about their experiences with technical aids for everyday life and home care. The results will be incorporated into the development of the navigator.
