The project “Trust in digital everyday companions to reduce loneliness in old age” (VATI-6) continues the successful VATI research program.
This time, the focus is on a particularly hard-to-reach group of older people in rural areas – those affected by loneliness. The research is being conducted in rural areas of the Görlitz district using an “outreach” approach. Based on the results of a data collection with guided interviews in the homes of those affected, digital technology (tablets with freely available video conferencing software, chat programs, other freely available apps) will be installed in the homes of those affected over a period of 12 months and scientifically monitored using the ELA method.
The project is funded by the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture, and Tourism (SMWK).
