The institute's name says it all: Our research institute prioritizes interdisciplinary collaboration. Researchers from the health, nursing, social sciences, and economics, as well as computer science, gerontology, and psychology, jointly explore current issues related to health, aging, work, and technology.
They contribute their own disciplinary strengths as well as an openness to the perspectives of other disciplines. The guiding principle of our institute is that only together can we explore the challenges of the major megatrends of our time – population aging, digitalization, climate change, and the resulting consequences for individuals and society – and develop proposals for addressing them.
This guiding principle is also reflected in our research approach of co-creation. We explore the use of technological innovations based on human needs and preferences – together with our research target groups! Technological innovation is important, but the focus is always on people: health and quality of life in old age and at work – and how digital innovations can help with this.
